Personality
Despite his punk-esque appearance, Lindon is actually a kind, intelligent, and talented trainer and performer. Unfortunately, he has very low self esteem and often underestimates his abilities, even putting himself down at times, and taking whatever anyone says in the worst way possible. Lindon is also rather romantic compared to most teenage boys, surprisingly. However, he doesn't have a girlfriend due to the aforementioned self-esteem problems. When he is not traveling or battling, he usually practices his guitar and singing. He deeply cares for all of his Pokemon, and he especially loves pokemon who like music (which all of his do).
Appearance
Same as above, except for the addition of headphones, a guitar strapped to his back, no cigarette, and no dynamite.
LINDON'S TEAM
Skorpius
Gender: Male
Moveset: Swords Dance, Cross Poison, Aerial Ace, Rock Slide
Nature: Timid
Description: As Lindon's first Pokemon, he and Lindon have a special relationship. Despite his appearance which some would describe as scary, he is actually very gentle and easily frightened, which makes him one of Irving's favorite targets. In his two years with Lindon, Skorpius has inherited Lindon's love of music, especially rock. He usually flys directly behind Lindon, rather than staying in his Poke Ball. Skorpius was originally part of a group inhabiting Route 45. However, he got separated from the group, and since he didn't know the area well, he eventually wandered to Cherrygrove City. One night when Lindon, who was 14 at the time, was playing his guitar, Skorpius heard the sound of the guitar, and was attracted to it, so he flew into Lindon's room from the open window. Lindon was startled at first, but when he realized that Skorpius was just trying to listen to the music, they became friends.
Irving
Gender: Male
Moveset: Shadow Punch, Confuse Ray, Thunderbolt, Hidden Power (Dark)
Nature: Rash
Description: Before Lindon challenged the Violet City Gym Leader, he decided to train in Sprout Tower. However, while he and Skorpius were making their way up, they found that they were being followed by a Gastly, who kept playing tricks on them. They ignored him at first, but even after they left the tower, the Gastly still followed them. Since he had grown so atached to them, Lindon caught it. Eventually, he evolved into a Haunter. Irving is a trickster, plain and simple. He loves to scare people and other Pokemon for fun, but does not do it to be mean. He's just impulsive, and when he sees someone new, his first instinct is to scare them. As Skopius scares easily, Irving's favorite activity is to think of new ways to scare Skorpius, but always stops if he feels that he is going to far. In return, Skorpius realizes that Irving is just playing around, so he doesn't get mad.
Dana
Gender: Female
Moveset: Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Surf, Psychic
Nature: Mild
Description: While making his way to Goldenrod City, Lindon was asked by the Day Care couple to help hatch a Pokemon egg. In time, it hatched into a Psyduck, and Lindon went back to the Day-Care Center to give it back, but the Psyduck had grown attached to Lindon. The couple then decideed to let Lindon keep the egg. Surprisingly, Dana is the most level-headed of the group. However, she does not like spoiling the fun of others, and will join the rest of the team in what they're doing as long as it's not too crazy. If she doesn't join in, she just swims or sleeps, depending on their location.
Krieger
Gender: Male
Moveset: Silver Wind, Agility, Baton Pass, Swords Dance
Nature: Hardy
Description: Krieger was in a harsh environment before meeting Lindon, but he was not in the wild. At this time, he belonged to another trainer, and an abusive trainer at that. Whenever he didn't win against someone, his owner would have all of his other Pokemon beat him senseless. At one point, he tried to run away, but didn't make it very far as he soon bumped into Lindon, who was making his way to Ecruteak, which gave his trainer sufficient time to get close enough to call him back into his ball. A few minutes later, the trainer called all of his Pokemon out for another beating session. When Lindon saw this, he was enraged, and challenged the other trainer to a battle. Thing went rather well for Lindon until the trainer was down to his last Pokemon: Scizor himself. At first, Scizor listened to his owner, attacking Lindon's Pokemon, but soon stopped when he realized that Lindon's Pokemon weren't attacking back, but just using defensive moves. Seeing this act of kindness gave him the courage to attack his own trainer. Lindon then took Scizor's ball from the other trainer and renamed him Krieger. Krieger is somewhat introverted due to physical and emotional abuse from his last trainer, but Lindon can be persistent enough to make Krieger loosen up. He does not interact with Yumi due to the fact that his previous trainer had a Houndoom as well.
Yumi
Gender: Female
Moveset: Flamethrower, Will-o-Wisp, Pursuit, Substitute
Nature: Lonely
Description: As a Houndour, Yumi was separated from her pack during a storm. She was easily able to survive, but was extremely lonely. She tried to become friends with many other Pokemon, but because of the repuation of Houndor and Houndoom, she had no success. However, she eventually came across Lindon and his team while they were resting, and although Lindon called Dana out to defend at first, he soon realized that she didn't mean any harm. Skorpius ended up talking with Yumi about her past, and when he learned that they had basically went through the same past, he made sure that Lindon added her to the team. Due to her abandonment issues, Yumi tries her best to find friends, and has so far been rather succesful, with the only exception being Krieger, who usually goes back into his ball whenever she gets too close.
Steeltripper
Gender: Female
Moveset: Toxic, Protect, Earthquake, Rock Slide
Nature: Relaxed
Description: When Lindon was in Cianwood City, he came across another trainer, who wanted to explore the Cliff Cave, and Lindon decided to tag along. Inside the cave, they came across an Onix and a Graveler. Lindon wanted the Onix, whereas the other trainer wanted the Graveler. They both ended up catching the Pokemon, but the balls they used ended up getting mixed up, and when they released their new Pokemon, they each found that they had the one the other wanted. Lindon proposed that they trade, and they did. However, the other trainer gave the Onix a Metal Coat before carrying through with the trade so the Onix could evolve into a Steelix as a gift.
THE PLAYER
Your name/nickname: You can just call me Cody.
How many years you've been rping: Somewhere between 2 and 3, I believe.
Role Play Sample: "Irving, return!" Lindon exclaimed as he pressed the button on his prank-loving Haunter's Poke Ball. The capsule opened and Irving disappeared in a flash of red light. "Get some rest, man. I'll take you to the Pokemon Center after this battle is over." Having said that, he looked up at the trainer in front of him. "I would just forfeit right now, but you probably wouldn't let me get away with that."
Lindon wouldn't have been surprised if he had lost. In fact, he was expecting to by now. So far things were pretty much even. Granted, none of his Pokemon had actually fainted, but they were getting rather tired, so he wasn't going to make them fight anymore. They may as well have fainted. Now that Irving was done, he only had one Pokemon left.
Looking behind him, he saw his first Pokemon nested in a tree. Purple exoskeleton, claws, and a membrane connecting each arm with a leg, Skorpius the Gligar was waiting for Lindon to call him in. There was no reason to keep this going on anymore than necessary. "Skorpius! Your turn!" Immediately, he jumped off of the branch and started to glide toward the field.
"Let's finish this."
